Pre-eclampsia is a pregnancy related syndrome that contributes to maternal and perinatal mortality and morbidity in
India. The FIGO guidelines have recommended where possible 1st Trimester prediction of pre-term Pre-eclampsia to
enable Aspirin treatment for prevention.
However, today, most women who develop pre-eclampsia are identified only when symptoms have developed in 2nd or 3rd Trimester. Assessment at this time is challenging and there is an opportunity to identify potential tools which
may support that process.
Therefore, in association with many of the eminent from the medical sector, PerkinElmer invites all the interested
participants to attend the e - conference on September 22, 2020 for the duration of 2hours.
This e-conference will provide an insight into the experiences of one laboratory who offer a 1st Trimester prediction
panel to their physicians. The focus will then shift to management of women who present with symptoms in 2nd and
3rd Trimester, with an emphasis on the potential role of point of care tests, to identify those women most at risk of
adverse outcomes whilst reducing the need for unnecessary hospitalization.
